On Arbor Day this year I will plant a birthday/Arbor day tree for my 1 year old nephew. I will also plant the 101st new baby tree on my 3 1/2 acre property. I have been ordering them from the Arbor Day folks and planting them since I bought it 7 months ago.

It was an open field when I bought it, but in time, the 101 trees will become an oasis of shade, food, and respite for both the wildlife and myself. Eventually I hope to have children to watch them grow, climb in them as they get big and strong enough, and inherit them when I pass on. This is the gift I leave to the world - a little piece of paradise in an otherwise barren landscape. Happy Arbor Day!!!
