The Beauty of a Tree

They slumber all through Winter
‘Neath a coat of silver ice.
Sleeping, oh so soundly,
Till the weather becomes nice.

But as they slumber peacefully,
Something happens every year.
On each and every branch, you see
Tiny signs of Spring appear.

As old man Winter nears the end
And buds start bursting forth,
Spring is surely on its way
To chase the cold wind north.

Then leaves come rushing out to play
In gentle summer breezes
Giving refreshing shade to all,
Cooling as it pleases.

But when you think the trees
Have truly given us their all,
Their splendor comes in grandeur
Each and every single Fall.

Wonders of nature are all around
I think we can agree.
But an ever-changing, enduring gift
Lies in the beauty of a tree.
