Hi all,
I’m new to this forum, so I thought I’d say hi by telling my Arbor Day story.
All of our trees were planted in memory of or in honor of someone.
When my younger son, Gregory, was born, he had to have a tree, so on Arbor Day in 2001, we planted the plum. My oldest son got to stay home from school that day, getting really muddy and eating doughnuts. He will, I’m certain, never forget planting day! (Well, ok, maybe he will, but I won’t!)
Here’s Gregory’s tree:

Cheers!

Julie,
Thanks for sharing. Your "tree grower's diary" pages are amazing. You have logged some serious time and effort putting these together!

It’s still hanging on the wall at school! Ugh!
If I don’t get that letter back from his teacher soon, I’m just going to have to go up there and copy it down word-for-word! (“Ode to Black Cherry,” a love letter from my 10-year-old son to the black sheep of our tree family. Everybody in the neighborhood wants the black cherry gone. Everybody, that is, except my son, and now me, because the letter is just the sweetest thing imaginable.)
